Outdoor benches typically consist of slats so that rainwater cannot collect on a large, single surface. This method of drainage restricts the design of outdoor furniture in a significant way. To challenge this convention, I looked to the channeling of rainwater off of a leaf's surface. Rainfall is controlled along the corrugations and directed to the opening in the middle of the seating surface.
